The 2009 Indian premier league season will happen outside India. South Africa and England are the 2 likely venues where the matches can be held. South africa holds the upper hand though.
IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi however said that the matches would be held on the scheduled dates. Neither would the timings change and the Indian audience will be able to watch the matches as scheduled according to the IST (Indian standard time).
BCCI President Shashank Manohar, addressing the press after the meeting said: "We have been forced to move the IPL out of India. My apologies to the people of India, who have loved the event. But the attitude of the government has forced us to take this step."
BCCI will come out with the venue details in the next 2-3 days. Shashank Manohar said, that many countries are interested in hosting the lucrative Twenty20 event.
The timings for the indian audience to watch the IPL matches will be 4 Pm and 8Pm IST
However i predict it would be south africa if IPL commisioner Lalit Modi considers costs as big issue.
