The first match of India's biggest cricket tournament IPL 3 would kick start in hyderabad on 12th march 2010 and would conclude on 25th April 2010 and it would be going to an intense cricketing tournament.
However hockey lovers would feel that they are in backseat as two IPL matches will coincide with finals of hockey world cup, but any how people might choose to watch their national game instead of less popular cricket(on world viewers level).
The schedule is tighter this time also as just after 5 days of concluding of IPL 3 World T20 championship would start in west indies so we can expect great crickting summers this 2010 season

IPL 3 opener between Deccan Chargers and KKR X1 in march 2011
The DLF Indian Premier League season two champions Deccan Chargers will take on Kolkata Knight Riders at Hyderabad in the opening match of the season 3 to be played from March 12 to April 25, 2010.
The final of the 45-day Twenty20 cricket league would be held on April 25, IPL Chairman Lalit Modi announced after a meeting of its Governing Council on Tuesday.
IPL III will have four additional match staging centres -- Nagpur, Vishakhapatnam, Ahmedabad and Dharamsala -- and will also stage one extra match, the 60th, for the third place play-off, Modi said.
"The playing window remains the same, 45 days", he said.
The IPL Chairman announced that in 2011 two more franchise teams would be added to make for 10 teams and playing 94 matches in 12 centres.
"There would be 94 games in all with each franchisee playing 18, instead of 14 preliminary phase games. But the window would remain more or less the same," Modi said.
